Normally, most of hard drives are divided into two or more partitions. And depending on the size or format of the partitions, each partition will have ultimate and different purpose. The partition can be deleted while operating system re installation, or can be deleted due to virus.
Whether partition can be recognized by system or not depends on the partition table and boot sector of partition. If partition table or boot sector of partition is destroyed by virus or deleted accidentally, you will not see the partition you need. In fact, the partition is not actually lost, because when you delete a hard drive partition, you are not initially deleting everything but just the parameters that mark how the partition is setup.

Step 6: Once the scanning process is completed, all the detected logical drives that are detected, are listed out in the dialog box. You can choose the logical drive from which you want to recover data. Once the drive is selected, the software scans the drive and lists out all the found files and folders in the form of a tree structure, as shown in Figure g.

Step 7: Once the tree is formed the final step is to restore data to safe location.
If you do not want to save data now but do it later, then you can save scanned information in a file using ‘Save Scan Information’ option from Tools menu. Whenever required you can open scan info file using ‘Open Scan Information’ option from File menu and recover data to desired destination location.
Vital Information’s:
- If you do not find your files and folders in the tree structure formed, then run Turbo scan option from Tools menu. In this operation, the application performs rigorous search to find files and folders and will list all the found files and folders.
- Never save the data to the partition or drive from where you are recovering data, as it may result in overwriting of data, and would result in permanent data loss.
