Migrate Outlook profile

Microsoft Outlook is the most commonly used standalone e-mail client by all levels of computer users. However, no e-mail application can ensure safety from unexpected disastrous situations. It always results in loss of most valuable e-mails, attachments, contacts, schedules etc.

Taking Smart Backup using the software

The software provides a one click Smart Backup option to take backup of your entire Outlook profile data with just one click. Backup includes all profiles, e-mail account settings, personal storage files, contacts, journal, rules and alerts, signatures, templates and all other important Outlook items.

Follow the steps given below, to take backup, and migrate Outlook data successfully,

Step 1: Once REMO Outlook Backup & Migrate software is installed, run the software, by double clicking  the desktop icon, or by selecting the icon from the Programs list  in the Start menu.The Main window pops up, as shown in Figure a.

Click on the Smart Backup button, to create an automated backup of your Outlook data.

Step 2: Once you click the Smart Backup button, the software displays  the estimated backup file size, and the destination drive, where the backup file is going to be saved, as shown in Figure b. Verify the backup file size and path, and click on the OK button.

Step 3: Once the Smart Backup process is complete, a confirmation message will be displayed. On clicking the OK button, a backup summary will be displayed, as shown in Figure c.

Note: Ensure that there is enough free disk space in the destination drive, to store the backup file before initiating the Smart Backup process. The default path where your Smart Backup file gets stored is C:\Users\\Documents\Smart E-mail Backup.

Migrate Outlook profiles

The second task you can perform, with the help of REMO Outlook Backup & Migrate Software is, migration of your entire Outlook profile. REMO Outlook Backup & Migrate software lets you migrate from an older version of Outlook, to an upgraded version, across different Operating systems.

You can perform migration of your Outlook profile data, by following the simple steps given below,

Step 1: Click on the Migrate button, present on the Main window of the application, as shown in Figure d.

Step 2: As soon as you click the Migrate button, a new window is displayed, as shown in Figure e. Click on the Browse button, to select the backup file, which you need to migrate. Finally, enter the password in the security check box (if you have secured the backup file earlier, with a password) and then, click on the Nextbutton, to proceed to the next step.

Step 3: After completing the migration process, a summary will be displayed in a tree format, as shown in Figure f.

This concludes the whole migration process. The migration process may not work, if you are trying to migrate from a newer version of Outlook to an older version (E.g. Migrating Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2003).

Note:REMO Outlook Backup & Migrate software, supports migration of Outlook data only from Outlook 2003 to Outlook 2007.
