Scenarios in which data is deleted / lost from memory cards

Human errors: Data is deleted or lost form memory cards in the following situations

  • Files / folders are deleted using Shift+Delete key combination

How to Recover Memory Card Data?

Use memory card recovery utility to recover photos from formatted, reformatted or corrupted memory card. Follow the steps given below to retrieve deleted pictures from memory card

Step 1:  Eject the memory card from which you have lost / deleted data and connect it to a healthy PC

Step 2: Download and install free trial version of Remo Recover (Windows) software on the computer to which the memory card is connected

Step 3: Launch the program by double-clicking the shortcut on the desktop or by using the Start Menu > Programs option

Step 4: From the main screen select "Recover Photos" option, as shown in Figure 1

Step 5: Select "Recover Lost Photos" option to restore photos from memory card, as shown in Figure 2

Step 6: Select the memory card (appears as a logical drive) from which you need to recover pictures and then click "Next" as shown in Figure 3

Step 7:  You can select the photos based on the unique signatures by selecting appropriate file types as shown in Figure 4

Step 8: Once you click "Next", the scanning process starts

Step 9: After the scanning process, you have the option to view the recovered data using "File Type View" / "Data View" option as shown in Figure 5

Step 10: You can evaluate the recovery results by using "Preview" option to view recovered data as shown in Figure 6

Step 11: Use "Save Recovery Session" option to save the scanned information, that ensues you need not rescan the memory card when you resume saving process as shown in Figure 7

Step 12: Once you are satisfied with the recovery results, you can purchase the full version of memory card recovery tool by Remo

Step 13: Later, you can activate the software and use the option "Open Recovery Session" to load previously saved scanned information and carry on with the saving process as shown in Figure 8

Note: Stop using the memory card instantly, when you realize that you have lost / deleted data from it. As the data may be overwritten making the chances of recovery feeble.
