NTFS Recovery

I have been working on an important paper for the past 2 weeks, and I was just about to finish it. The deadline is in a few days. I saved my document and went out for a coffee. Surprisingly, when I came back, my screen was black. The computer rebooted itself automatically and is now stuck in the boot up process with a message: “No boot device, please insert a bootable media”. I tried to restart my computer a few times, but it did not fix my problem. I need the document back at any cost. The file system is NTFS. Is there any software, using which I can recover my important documents?

At this point, it’s important to stay calm and not to panic!

The only solution to your problem now, is to use a reliable NTFS recovery software, like Remo Recover (Windows), which is a collection of various data recovery components designed to recover all deleted files, which have been removed from the Recycle Bin, inadvertently deleted or lost due to virus attacks, unexpected shutting down of the system, software failure or even loss of data after Windows reinstallation. The software has versatile options to perform full search on a hard drive, and recover deleted or lost files.

Basic information about the software

Connect your hard drive as a secondary slave to another healthy computer. Use this computer to recover data from the corrupted drive. Be sure, that the drive is seen in the startup process, because Remo Recover (Windows) will not work if you are having mechanical problems with the disk drive, or if it is not recognized by the BIOS.

The software is fast in recovering data and does not require special technical or data recovery skills from the user, to recover deleted files. This read-only application does not affect the partition or drive that contains the lost data. You always have an option to save recovered data to another partition, external storage device or to a mapped network drive.

Points to Remember

Never install the software on the drive from which you intend to recover the lost data. The software must be installed and run on a second, independent drive. When you are done, the utility is very easy to use.

Guide to recover the lost data

Remo Recover (Windows) is a safe and reliable NTFS Recovery software. In addition, it’s distinctively designed recovery algorithms allow home and business users to recover lost data promptly.

Step 5: Select the partition, from which data has to be recovered. Once partition is selected, click the Finish button. The software analyzes the selected logical drive and searches for files and folders in it.

While NTFS Partition Recovery searches for files and folders, process information is displayed at the bottom of the main application window and actions are recorded in a process log on the main window.

After searching for files and folders, all the found files and folders will be displayed in a tree format as shown in Figure d.

Step 6: Once the tree is formed, the final step is to restore data to a safe location. If you want to recover the whole tree structure formed, click on the root folder to mark the whole data and click the ‘Save All’ button on the tool bar.

As soon as you click the ‘Save all’ button, a window to select destination drive is displayed, as shown in Figure e.

Figure e: Select local drive

Select a logical drive in your local disk where you wish to save the data. You can save a single file, by selecting the file, and clicking the Save button. This will save the selected file/folder to specified destination drive.

Note:

  • If you do not find your files and folders in the tree structure formed, then use the Turbo scan option from Tools menu. In this operation, the application performs rigorous search to find files and folders and will list all the found files and folders.
  • You can preview the file before it could be recovered using the Preview option.
  • If you do not want to save data now but do it later, then you can save scanned information in a file using the ‘Save Scan Information’ option in Tools menu. You can open scan info file whenever required using ‘Open Scan Information’ option in File menu and recover data to desired destination drive. This reduces the pain of scanning the drive again to search for lost / deleted data.

Finally, you would be glad to see your important files back with the help of Remo Recover (Windows).
