Guide to recover photos, using REMO Recover (Windows) Media Edition software.
Use the simple steps given below, to recover photos using REMO Recover (Windows) Media Edition software.
Important: Take these necessary precautions, before you start using the software.
- Avoid performing any Read/Write function on the drive from which, you want to recover the data, as this may lead to permanent erasure of data.
- Connect the drive from which you want to recover the photos, as a slave, to a healthy PC, where the photo recovery software has already been installed. We can use this PC, to recover photos from the connected drive.
Step1: Launch the application, by double clicking the desktop icon, or by selecting the icon from the Programs list in the Start Menu. The main window pops up, as shown in Figure a. Select the Recover Photo option.

Step 2: As soon as you click the Recover Photo option, a window to select the physical drive from which, you wish to recover the data, is displayed, as shown in Figure b. Select the physical drive from which you want to recover the photos, and click the Next button.
Note: If the drive you are looking for is not listed in the list of drives, you can select the Refresh Drives option, to locate the drives.

Step 3: A new window now displays the various file types supported by the software. You can select a specific file type, or opt for recovery of all file types, by clicking the Select All button, as shown in Figure c.

Step 4: After selecting the file types, click the Next button. As you click the Next button, the application starts scanning the selected media for specified file types and lists all the files it finds in a tree format, grouped according to their file types, as shown in Figure d.

Step 5: After the tree structure has been formed, select the files you wish to recover, and click the Save button. If you want to save all the files and folders present in the tree, click on the Root folder, and click the Save button.
As soon as you click the Save button, a window to select the destination drive to save the recovered data, is displayed, as shown in Figure e.

Step 6: Select the destination drive, where you want to save the data, and click on the OK button.
Note: You can choose to save the recovered data in a compressed format, by selecting the Compress Data option. You can also save the scan information, of a particular scan task, by selecting the Save scan info option, as shown in Figure e.
