Recover data from accidentally formatted drive
There are two common types of format: “Quick” and “Normal”.
- Quick format just erases the hard disk’s root directory, twiddles a couple of other things, and you’re done. And also quick format does not overwrite files.
- Normal format actually overwrites all of the data on the disk. You’ll know you’re performing a normal format as it takes a long time.
Chances of data being overwritten are higher in normal format as compared to quick format. So if you’ve done a quick format, the chances are high that you can recover your lost data.
As soon as you format your drive, stop using the drive. The more you use it, the more the contents of the drive changes, and the less likely it will be that your data can be recovered.

If you do not want to save data now but do it later, then you can save scanned information in a file using ‘Save Scan Information’ option from Tools menu. Whenever required you can open scan info file using ‘Open Scan Information’ option from File menu and recover data to desired destination location.
Note: If you do not find your files and folders in the tree structure formed, then run Turbo scan option from Tools menu. In this operation, the application performs rigorous search to find files and folders and will list all the found files and folders.
