Partition corruption: While trying to make dual /multi OS boot installation, partition information may get corrupt causing partition / data loss
Partitioning errors: You may encounter partitioning errors while trying to create new partitions using third party partitioning utilities
System Restore CD: Partition getting re-created / reformatted when system restore CD supplied by computer vendors is used.
Corrupted / damaged partition table: Improper shut down / power failure or ejecting external drives without closing any read / write sessions may corrupt partition table information.
