First of all, let me explain, that when you delete a file using just a delete command, the file is not moved to the Recycle Bin at all. Instead, the file stays in the same place but its directory entry – the complete path and file name of the file – is removed and placed in a hidden folder called Recycled.
So the next question that arises in our mind is what happens when you empty the Recycle Bin?
Once again, the file is not deleted. Instead, Windows changes the file’s directory entry to indicate that the space occupied by this file is no longer needed and is available for use. The data is still there, but at any time if the operating system needs space for another file, it may be overwritten. Until it is overwritten, the file exists on the disk, and is recoverable. That means you dramatically increase the chances of being able to recover a deleted file, if you refrain from any subsequent disk activity, such as creating, editing or copying files.

Step 1: Launch the software either from program files, or by double clicking the desktop shortcut. The main window pops up, as shown in figure a.

Step 2: Select the drive which contains the deleted data and click the Next button. As you click the Next button, the application scans the selected drive for the deleted data, and lists all the found files and folders in a tree format under the Root folder, as shown in Figure b.

Step 3: Once recovery is complete and tree structure is formed, the next and final step is to restore your found files and folders to a safe location. Select the data you wish to recover files or click the Root folder to select all the found data and then click the Save button.
As you click the Save button, a window to select the destination drive to save the recovered data is displayed, as shown in Figure c.

Select the destination drive, and specify the file types you wish to ignore (file filter) while saving. Check if you want the data to be restored in compressed format and click the OK button.
As you click the OK button, the software starts saving the data to a selected destination drive. Once saving is complete, a message pops up intimating the same. All the data will be saved in a new folder by name “UndeleteX” in the selected destination drive.
You can now access your recovered data as before.
