How to recover photos that has been deleted or are missing from a memory card, flash card, SD card etc.?
To recover photos, you would require
- A Mac computer matching the system requirements to run Remo Recover (Mac) - Media Edition
- A USB cable that allows you to connect your digital camera to Mac (if you can access your drive by attaching your camera to your Mac)
- If the device cannot be accessed by connecting your camera to your Mac then you need a card reader
- Free Disk space on your Mac to save recovered photos or another spare external USB or flash drive
Note: It is safe to download and install the software on your Mac, because data loss has happened on your memory card. However, you must not take new pictures or try to use the card for any reason. Any saving process will result in overwriting of your lost photos.
Simply follow this procedure to recover your photos
- Download and install Remo Recover (Mac) demo version
- Select the drive / volume or storage device from which the data needs to be recovered
- Select the option "Recover Lost Photos" to recover deleted / lost photos, audio and video files
- Preview recovered photos prior to recovery, to evaluate the chances of recovery
- Save the “Recovery Session”
- If you are satisfied with the result obtained using the demo version, you can purchase the software
- Later, you can activate the software and then load previously saved recovery session to restore your lost files
Typical data loss scenarios
- Accidental deletion of photos, audio and video files
- Photos deleted while copying from one storage device to another
- Photos deleted due to corrupt iPhoto library
- Photos lost due to memory card corruption
- Photos deleted from the digital camera by accidentally pressing the “Delete All” button while previewing photos
- Photos deleted or lost when a memory card is pulled out abruptly from the card reader/camera during copy process
- Photos getting deleted by third party utilities
- Erasing all photos accidentally using format card option from the camera
- Switching off the camera during transfer of photos
- Capturing photos when the camera is low on battery
- Using the same memory card in various digital cameras may result in data loss
- Accidentally formatting the memory card on the Mac machine
