How to erase documents completely?

You might have heard many times people saying, “I bought a used hard drive and found all the personal data left on the drive by the previous user, and it included their bank account details, Mail passwords and other sensitive data”. If such hard drives go to some miscreants’ hands, then there are huge chances of misusing their sensitive data by these wrong persons. When you hear about such situations, you may think like “It will not happen to me; I will delete my files completely and will format and even re-format my device several times.” Do you think all these will erase your data permanently? If you feel so, then you are wrong!

When you delete a file, only the entry in the partition table will be deleted, but not your file. Your file content still resides on the device. Even if you format or re-format your drive, same thing happens. Most of your data remains there but will not be accessible; space will be marked as available to store new data. However, you can retrieve such data with the help of recovery software. Unless and until your data is overwritten by new data your previously deleted or formatted data will not be moved out permanently. Hence, before selling your PC or before dumping it, make sure all your documents are erased beyond recovery. Don’t worry about how to do this. You have Remo File Eraser which is a free tool that can easily erase documents, completely without leaving any traces of it.

Features of Remo File Eraser

Remo File Eraser is accurate and result-oriented file erasure software, which completely shreds off your files or folders saved on your disk. If you wish to shred or erase only one particular type of file (in this case documents) and need the rest of them; you can just select only that file and erase only that document.

To erase the files it uses 9 different types of Shredding patterns, which are recommended by US DoD (Us Department of Defense). These patterns, overwrites the selected file (i.e. the location where it is saved) multiple times repeatedly with random digits such that no recovery software can ever extract these documents. Remo File Eraser is a versatile and cost free tool that can be even used to shred documents from any device like external hard drives, USB devices, Flash memory cards and many others.
