How to take a backup of Outlook on Windows Standard user account?

Windows doesn’t allow administrator privileges on a Standard User account, which restricts the Standard user from performing administrative tasks. Hence, Remo Outlook Backup and Migrate doesn’t get access to read Standard user account Outlook.
In order to take Outlook backup on the Standard user account in a Windows computer, the account type should be changed to Administrator user account, now, the software would access the Outlook and takes a backup without any issues. You can revert back the account to Standard user account after taking the backup. To change the account type, follow the steps given below:

Change User Account type on Settings (Windows 10)

  • Click on Settings icon from the start menu or press the Windows key + I key to open the Settings app.
  • Click on Accounts.
  • Click on Family & Other People.
  • Under Other People, select the user account, and click Change Account Type.
  • Under Account Type, select Administrator from the drop down menu.
  • Click OK to complete the task.

If you want to convert an Administrator account to Standard User account, follow the same instructions and just change the type to a Standard User account.

Change User Account type on Control Panel

  • Open Control Panel from the Start menu or press Windows key + X keys to open the Power User menu and select Control Panel or Windows key + R keys opens the RUN command type Control and click OK to open Control Panel.
  •  Click on Change Account Type.
  • Select the User Account you want to change.
  • Click Change the Account Type.
  • Select Administrator or Standard.
  • Click Change Account Type button to complete the task.
