Clipboard


Clipboard (Sometimes referred to as pasteboard) is a temporary storage place for data that user want to copy from one location to another location in computer. Clipboard is a section of RAM (Random Access Memory) and holds the information until it has been overwritten by fresh files.

For example: In Word processor application, the clipboard is frequently used because to cut text from one part of document and paste it in another place or to some other place. Whenever user cut or copies the text it get stored in clipboard buffer until it’s pasted. In Mac and Windows operating system the user copy text from one application to other.

Basic Functions:

The clipboard functionality little bit varies from one operating environment to another and also varies between versions of same OS. It can even change sometimes by different user preference or different programs.

Note: In Windows 7 and 8 there is no longer clipboard is included. In case, if user wants to view the contents of clipboard then user need to download third party application.

The Standard Windows Key Bindings are:

  • Ctrl + C = to copy data onto the clipboard
  • Ctrl + X = to cut data onto the clipboard
  • Ctrl + V= to pate data onto the clip board

For Mac OS X:

  • Cmd – C= to copy data onto the clipboard
  • Cmd- X= to cut data onto the clipboard
  • Cmd- V= to paste data onto the clipboard

For Android Phone Steps are Listed Below:

  • Step 1: Launch the target application that you desire to transfer the contents of the clipboard and select the proper text field
  • Step 2: Press and hold down the text area until a dialog box appears
  • Step 3: Press "Paste" to retrieve the data from your clipboard.

Note:However, while working on these clip board that too usingt he CUT – PASTE command, ther are chances of losing your vital files. But using the Remo Recover software you can easily recover files lost after cut paste command within a matter of minutes.
