iPod Mini


iPod Mini is the Apple’s smallest and more manageable music player among all the other iPods. It’s only weigh is about 3.6 ounces and has size of a business card. It has a grayscale LED display and is more rugged and scratch-resistant than the other iPod models. It is available with 4GB and 6 GB hard drive capacities and could store over 1000 to 1500 songs. iPod Mini provided more than a half hour of skip protection and offers 18 hours of internal battery life. It supported music files with the MP3, AAC, M4A, WAV, AIFF, and Audible File Playback etc.

iPod Mini is available in five metallic colors includes silver, gold, pink, blue and green. Its layout has been changed and Apple named it as revolutionary “Click Wheel”. The main purpose was to provide easy navigation. In this design all buttons were made mechanical, and the four buttons were at the top of the front face were now placed underneath the scroll wheel. This allowed users to use the wheel as a touch-sensitive scroll wheel, or push on the four corners to click the four buttons.

iPod mini features Auto-Sync technology, which automatically downloads an entire digital music library onto your iPod mini and keeps it up-to-date as and when your iPod mini is plugged into a Mac or Windows computer using FireWire or USB 2.0.

Users can personalize their new iPod Mini with a custom laser engraving feature. iPod mini can be custom engraved with a name or personal message to memorialize special events such as a graduation, birthday, as well as for identification in case your iPod Mini is lost.

The iPod mini offers a voice recorder feature, an alarm clock, games, as well as a wired remote, for quick-and-easy connection to your computer.

History

First Generation: The first generation iPod Mini was introduced in 06, January 2004 which is a colorful, slightly rounded iPod. A new feature called Click wheel was introduced with this iPod Mini. or Video iPods. The first-generation Apple iPod Mini has a black and white screen and its capacity was limited to 4GB. It offers a battery life of 8 hours and was available in five different colors like namely silver, gold, pink, blue, and green.

Second Generation: The second generation iPod Mini is the same as the first generation. The main distinguishing features of this are the changes to its colors and increased battery life to 18 hrs. The colors used on these models are brighter. The Click Wheel color had matched the device body and the gold colored model was dropped in second generation. Moreover, the storage capacity can be either 4 GB or 6 GB. Also, the FireWire cable / AC power adapter were no longer provided as standard accessories.
