The latest version of Microsoft Windows is the Windows 8, released on May 31, 2012. Microsoft produced this series of operating system for use on home and business desktops, tablets, laptops and home theater PCs. Windows 8 Pro: Windows 8 Pro succeeds Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate and is targeted towards enthusiasts and business users. Also it includes all the features of Windows 8.

Windows 8 Enterprise: Windows 8 Enterprise provides all the features in Windows 8 Pro, with additional features to assist with IT organization

Windows RT: Windows RT will only be available pre-installed on ARM-based devices such as tablet PCs.

System Requirements of Windows 8

Following shows Minimum hardware requirements for Windows 8:

  • Windows 8 works with 1 gigahertz (GHz) or 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • Windows 8 needs 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM for 32-bit or 2 GB RAM for 64 bit
  • Windows 8 requires 16 GB of hard disk space for 32-bit and 20 GB for 64-bit
