  • Windows Movie Maker Version 6.0 was released in 2006 as part of Windows Vista that included new effects, transitions and even added support for the DVR-MS file format
  • In 2009, Windows Live Movie Maker was released along with windows 7 that included new features such as "Auto Movie" and also had the ability to export videos directly to DVD's etc.
