Wireframe is the best way to create a website at its structural level, which also lets you to determine specific size and placement of page elements, site features, conversion areas, etc. Thus, it makes easier for you to plan the layout based on how you want your user to process the information. In simple terms, it’s like a blueprint of your house design; you just need to see it in two-dimensional diagrams before you understand how to build the actual house.

Wireframe is much easier to adapt than a concept design; also its quicker, cheaper to review and amend the structure of the key pages in a wireframe format. It’s used at the beginning of the design phase and is often used to complete the User Centred Design process. These are hand drawn structures, but to provide on-screen delivery they are put together using Microsoft Visio application. With wireframe is possible to determine how the user interacts with the interface. This even allows the designer to plan the layout and interaction of an interface without being distracted by colors, typeface choices or even copy.

One of the major disadvantages of wireframe is, it’s not so easy for the users to grasp the concept of a wireframes as it do not include any design, or account for technical implications. Also, when you add content, it might initially be too much to fit within the wireframe layout; in such situations, designer and copywriter have to work together to make this fit.
