e of their own. Many of the attributes that Lightroom possesses, Photoshop doesn’t have. The same is with some of the attributes of Photoshop that Lightroom doesn’t have. Let us explore some of the various differences these two tools have. I will explain certain points that hit the spot and help us differentiate the two software.

Adobe Photoshop

The adobe Photoshop is among some of the most famous tools used by artists and amateurs equally. It is one among the best products the digital world has ever seen so far. The Photoshop is something which is engraved in our daily life and even language. The way the term is used in common conversations tells is popularity. If a person says, this image is “Photoshopped”, they mean to convey that image has been manipulated digitally. Isn’t it great? One software created to process digital images has penetrated the core of millions of minds.  Almost all the new people who join photography, try their hands on the Photoshop at first.

This tool is totally based on the pixel quality of any image. Any processing done on the image manipulates the pixel quality of the image. So if you are using Photoshop to process your image, you may have a good handling of the pixels in your image.

Processing – This tool is very good at retouching the images. If you want to nourish the image by giving it a retouch, this is best done with PS. This is a process where you want to enhance the features of any photo like remove blemish and whiten teeth etc. Photoshop does all the retouching in seconds, it is your fastest way of giving your images a retouch.

Opacity – If you wish to give a fine look to your image, Photoshop has a great way to do that. It creates layers of the image you are processing. You can create various layers and control different attributes of the image. If you have done some processing so far, you can have a distinct image by changing the opacity of different layers. The creation of layers is among the most important functions of Photoshop.

Actions – This is amazing what the Photoshop offers us. The action is actually a sequence of commands executed by you and recorded by Photoshop. Once you have carried out a series of commands for your processing, you can reapply the same sequence on any image just by a click of the button.

The actions taken on Photoshop by any professional or even an amateur person are complex. Sometimes there are a number of commands and the chain is too long to identify. This function comes with a great facility for all to repeat the commands.

Magic Fill – Content Aware fill is one of the most interesting features of the Photoshop.  It is used in a different number of ways. You can make use of this function to eliminate any distractions from the image. You can also make use of this feature to stretch or expand any image. This can be one of the best features in Photoshop. Using this feature might give trouble to some as it may not give adequate results in all the cases. But it works great at times and Photoshop gives tremendous results with this.

The Lightroom

This is also created by Adobe, the creators of Photoshop. Lightroom is an image management and editing tool. This is a program which is focused on specifically the photographers to perform various professional tasks. You can process, import and share your work with the help of Lightroom. This is basically created to enhance the workflow of artists.

RAW Images

Just like Photoshop, you can process RAW images with this tool. This is equipped with a RAW camera engine that helps the processing of high quality and large RAW images. You can process the RAW photo easily with this tool as soon as you import it. Some of the functions like saturation, Colour, Exposure etc. are the first things to apply to the RAW image.

Post Production

This tool is one of the best software for the post production process. You can edit your images as soon as you have shot it with this tool. It has almost all the important steps for the post production process. The Lightroom will start with importing your pictures, selecting and sorting out, tagging, processing, and sharing of those photos. This comprises almost all the steps of a post processing.

The Presets

The Lightroom is equipped with several presets which are done with some of the functions of Photoshop. Most of the presets are great to be used while processing any image. Lightroom keeps a presets of all the adjustments and records them. These presets are not flexible and are somewhat like a light software. But most of the times they are used in a wondrous way.

Here are some of the important aspects of these two very interesting tools. Some of the functions are not discussed as they are quite less important as compared to these attributes. The question of which one is best would be a lengthy discussion of core technicality and minute details. Lightroom is more professional and large in size which is centered on the needs of a professional person. It is a common issue with Photoshop files to get corrupt due to their large size and huge collections. At times you have to get a tool that will help you recover, you can mend Photoshop CS6 files with this software.

The users of Lightroom are conscious and are connected to the device and other platforms during the process. You can use Lightroom for extensive and fast processing at the same time. It’s way easier than Photoshop and has a better connectivity.
