How to View INDD Files Without InDesign

Writing for most people is either a profession or a talent, - let’s just say it is something that comes naturally to them and if they are good at it why not share it with the rest of the world.

Converting an INDD File:

To be able to view an INDD file, you will have to first convert it into PDF, JPG, HTML, ESP etc. as per your requirement. The most popular one out of these is PDF. To be able to do this, here we have mentioned 2 ways to convert INDD File to PDF File Format

Method 1: Using Convertor tools or software

Step 1:  you simply have to go to the website, download either QuarkXPress (which needs ID2Q Plugin), ADO, Lucidpress or any one of the online free converters.

Step 2: Sign in with your email ID and details. Download the file and click convert. You can convert into any format as per your preference. Now that you have chosen your preference.

Step 3: Go ahead and click on ‘Convert’. Your INDD file has now be converted into the format you preferred. Once, you have done this, it also gets easier to make changes and editing into the content easily.

Method 2: Using Inbuilt Tool:

InDesign has a built-in export feature using which you can convert  your INDD file to your desired file format.

Follow the steps mentioned below to convert INDD file to PDF file.

Step 1: Under File, Click on Export Option

Step 2: Click on the Location where you want to Save the file

Step 3: Click on Format Menu to Choose your desired format.

Step 4: In save as option, you can change the name of the file if you want, then click on Save button

Step 5: In the Export Adobe PDF Dialogue Box, you can select your desired preference in the following options:
- Adobe PDF Preset: depending on what your PDF file is for, you can Choose you can choose anything from High Quality Print (to get that file printed from your printer) to Smallest File Size option (optimized as email attachments).

Step 6: Click on Export button to save the file in PDF file format.
